ZenoHosp enforces a strict FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methodology to minimize pharmaceutical wastage. Here is how to configure alerts to prevent stock from expiring on your shelves.
Setting the Expiry Alert Threshold
Step 1: Go to Pharmacy > Configuration > Inventory Rules.
Step 2: Find the setting for "Global Near-Expiry Threshold (Days)". The default is 90 days. You can adjust this to 60 or 120 days depending on your vendor return policies.
Step 3: Save the configuration. The system will now flag any batch dropping below this threshold.
Generating the Return to Vendor (RTV) Report
At the end of every month, your Chief Pharmacist should run the RTV report to claim refunds from distributors before the drugs actually expire.
- Navigate to
Pharmacy > Reports > Expiry Reports.
- Select the "Near Expiry (Next 90 Days)" filter.
- Click "Export to Excel" or "Generate RTV PO" to instantly create return challans for your vendors.
