Adding a New Drug

Before a medicine can be purchased, stocked, or sold, it must exist in the Drug Master. This is typically restricted to Administrators.

Required Fields

• Generic Name & Brand Name: Helps doctors prescribe by generic, while pharmacists dispense the exact brand available.
• Formulation: Tablet, Capsule, Syrup, Injection, Cream, etc.
• HSN Code & GST Slab: Critical for compliance. E.g., setting a 12% or 18% GST rate based on the item category.
• UOM (Unit of Measurement): How the drug is dispensed (e.g., "1 Strip of 10 Tablets", or "1 Bottle of 100ml").

Reorder Levels

You can define a "Minimum Stock Level" for each drug here. When the physical stock drops below this number, the drug will automatically be flagged on the main Dashboard's "Low Stock" widget, ensuring you never run out of critical medicines.
